Today's verse is Psalm 48:14
For this God is our God for ever and ever:
He will be our guide even unto death.
The beginning of this Psalm speaks of the magnificence of God, and ends as you see above. God is God, and we as followers of Jesus Christ are his people, just as Israel was, and even now is, by his promises. Now, because God is our God, death needs be not even a consideration for the pros or cons of our actions, the only question we ought to ask is: Is this what my God wants me to do? He will show us the way we ought to go, whether we are to live, or whether we are to die, that is his and his alone. Our first recourse is his Word, and those things not directly covered by his Word, he will show us, but by his Word we are to evaluate all such direction. So let us take comfort in his direction, knowing that the way he leads us will allow us to bear the maximum fruit to his Glory. Amen.
