Today's verse is Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
In this verse can be seen the proverb: “Do not judge a person by their words, but by their actions.” We need to take this counsel to heart in two ways. First, we are to match our Words to our Deeds, or even better, match or deeds, and our words to the counsel and commands of Scripture. Then those that we fellowship with, and those that we support need to be determined by the same criteria, with what they do, out weighing what they say. Today, many think that if they just say the right thing, speaking the words of compassion, may then do whatsoever they please, because by word the have taken the “right” stand, spoken the acceptable thing. That is acceptable to their neighbor, as determined by another neighbor. Yet, it is to God that we must seek to please, not in word only, but also in deed. Whom will you seek to please? Selah [Think about this.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
