Today's verse is Matthew 8:2-3
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
In all of my years, I never questioned God’s ability to do anything, the question I always had was who am I that God would help me? This was a good question, for before I ever asked it, God placed in the heart of a Psalmist the same Question; “What is man, that thou art mindful of him?” Now, while I still do not understand it, I know that God is willing to accept any that come to him in repentance, for he says so in his Word. As this leper here is in type. Leprosy is in type of sin, and as leprosy does to the body, so sin does to the soul. As we would look at in disgust to the diseased body of a leper, so God looks at the diseased soul of a sinner, of which we all are. Yet, because of the Work of Jesus Christ, as Jesus was willing to cleanse this leper, so also is he willing to cleanse all of us that come to him of our sin. So what say you, will you come to him today, and trade your filthy sin for his spotless Righteousness? The choice is yours. Amen.
To God be the Glory
