Follow Your Own Path, Not Another's

Today's verse is Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

When God worked in Mary the great thing he was doing, God did not expect Joseph to take Mary’s word for what God was doing, but, so that Joseph would know that it is God that worked in Mary, He sent his messenger to Joseph, as he has to Mary. As Jesus was speaking to Peter, he shewed him that he need to not be so concerned with what God was doing with others but that he only needed to concern himself with what God wanted of him. In other words, we are not to compare ourselves, or the task God has given us, with others, or the tasks he may have given them, but to follow the path he has set for us. What has your Savior directed you to do? Do it, without seeking if others are doing the same thing. Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
