Today's Verse is Proverbs 24:1
Be not thou envious against evil men,
Neither desire to be with them.
In this present world, there will be those that do not know God (through they may fain to know him) who appear to be well off, having what may be considered to be the best of all, wielding also extreme power over their neighbours. The command we have received here is simple: Do not desire what they have, nor seek to take part in their company, and if you may find it necessary to do so, cut it as short as possible, refusing also to receive their approval, nor give them yours. Have we not learned by the grace of God, by which we are saved, that we are to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, living soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ[.] Amen.
