Today's verse is Romans 6:11
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? lamented Paul, yet he has given us the answer even before, he said it. Some seeking to justify themselves before God, believe that they are the keepers of their salvation, and claim that if it were not so, then we could sin with impunity and without fear of retribution. To this Paul had said, God forbid, How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Until we are changed, we now have the New man as well as the Old, and we are to surrender to the New, and reckon the Old dead. As Paul had said in another place: work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. So, let the world see that New man which God has planted in you as you confessed the Lord Jesus, believing that God had raised him up from the grave. Amen.
