Today's verse is 1 Kings 3:12
Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
As I was praying today, I was reminded of a conversation where one did not want me to pray for him as I figured he needed. Yet we are truly to pray as we will, with this warning: As we pray, so might we receive, and we will answer to God for all that we do, or even think, and say. Therefore, let us remember: So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Therefore, as we have seen in the scriptures the truth of this proverb: be careful of what you wish for: for you just might receive it; let us remember and pray as the Psalmist: Let the words of my mouth, /And the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, /O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Selah [May you always pray for what God wants for you.] Amen.
