Today's verse is Hebrews 8:3
For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
And what is the sacrifice that this High Priest after the order of Melchisedec, Jesus, had made? It is recorded for us a little bit later: Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood [the lamb of God] he entered once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Notice now these words: “once” and “eternal,” no longer will we need to make sacrifice for redemption, nor for the covering of sins, for Christ Jesus has himself finished this work for us forever. Amen. Therefore, let us consider our new debt: He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Knowing now, that you are secure in him, will you submit to him, and his will, walking with him according to his way, found in his Word, that you might be found in him pleasing to the Father, when you appear before him. Amen.
