Today's verse is Deuteronomy 4:4
But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.
First, we must understand, that this statement is based upon a Promise that God had made to Joshua and Caleb, and in understanding the context, and the time it was made, we can also make application to us today. Who for the sake of Christ, may be called upon to lay down our lives for his Name’s Sake. (Have we not through him recieved life Eternal, even as Abraham, Issac and Jacob (Israel.)) For the key word in this verse is “Cleave,” which in another place has been rendered “Diligently Seek.” For we are all to cleave, or diligently seek, the Lord God who created the Heaven and the Earth and all that in them is. Now, in my Nation, MAGA (Make America Great Again) is all the rage. How should we do this? The answer can be found in these following verses: Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. Now, this promise was given to Israel under the old Covenant, but we now have a New Covenant through Jesus Christ our Lord, and any Nation that has God as their Lord can be great, as Paul said, To the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. Will you contribute to making your Nation Great? Amen.
