Trappings With No Substance

 

Today's verse is 1 Samuel 4:22

And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

    If you read 1 Samuel chapter 4, you will find that the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord of hosts, did not save Israel, it did not cause Israel to win the battle! Why? Because Israel did not come to God, as God demands, but they assumed the trappings, the outward appearance, they trusted in the Relic, making it an Idol, and not in God, who brought them out of Egypt. Do you want the blessings of the One True God? Then come to him as he demands, seek out His Word and act according to his commandments. Starting with his plan of Salvation through Jesus Christ who suffered the Cross for you, and Rose up the third day proving himself to be God, that you might be forgiven, then hold fast to his Word and do it, then you will have the blessings of God upon you, and your Nation as well, if your neighbours do likewise. Amen.
