Opposition In The Service Of The Lord

 

Today's verse is 1 Samuel 7:7

And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines. 

    Let us learn from this, when we seek the Lord our God, those that love him not, will come against us. Yet, the Lord our God, if we come to him according to his Word, will not leave us, but he will fight for us, even as he did for Israel here. Yet, in Jeremiah, we see Judah, refusing to obey God, refusing even to recognize that God is God, and they were promised, and received destruction. Let us, therefore, consider our own way, and choose this day whom we shall serve. If it be God, do it with a whole heart. Amen.
