Gaining Understanding By The Power Of God

 

Today's verse is I Corinthian 2:5

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

    I believe that to say that the wisdom of men is based upon the exercise of Reason is accurate. However, reason is only as good as the information and assumptions it is based upon, if either of these is in error, the conclusion is not to be trusted. That which comes from God, comes from him that Knows all, Created all, Sustains all, so remember that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Have we not been admonished to lean not to our own understanding, but to acknowledge him in all our ways. We do this first by seeking out and searching diligently God’s Word, proposing conclusions then testing those conclusions again and again against the full counsel of God’s Word by the understanding provided by his Spirit and so shall we gain true understanding, Wisdom and Knowledge of the Truth in the Fear of the Lord. Amen.
