What To Remember When Things Are The Darkest.

Today's Verse is Job 16:21
O that one might plead for a man with God,
As a man pleadeth for his neighbour!

During this reading we find that Job is in Despair and he loses sight of the ability of God to redeem, even though he has often rested upon this very thing, and the one that answers him, appears to go for the kill. I know that in my worst state, when comparing myself to others, even then, I could always find myself on top, even as we are warned of Paul: For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But what then should we do? When all things appear to be dark, and there appears to be no hope, we remember the Works of God and what he has promised. For when we consider what God has already done, we will find that he is faithful to also do what he has promised. And do we not now know that if we place our trust in him, that we have an advocate with the Father, even as Job here desires? And even as Noah found Grace in the Lord’s Sight, even so can we, if we diligently seek him. Amen.

To God be the Glory
