God's Word On Overpopulation

Today's Verse is Genesis 9:1
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

Question, do you allow the Word of God affect your opinion in all things? From time to time there are those that make the suggestion that the earth is overpopulated. Does God’s Word of anything to say to this? We have it right here, the second time God as commanded mankind to replenish [literally: fill] the earth, and God found it important enough to emphasize by repeating it again to Noah a second time: And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. To this date the closest God has given to anything that might look like a rescission of this command would be Paul’s personal counsel to remain single: I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be. However, contrary to this, we have the promise given to Isaiah: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: /And the government shall be upon his shoulder: /And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, /The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. / Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end, . . . So, with the Hope of Christ’s Return, while there may be periods where we might wish to abstain, and as Jeremiah remained single, over all we have the command by God to continue and fill the Earth, to his Honor and Glory. Amen.
