How The Fear Of The Lord Ought To Affect Us

Today's Verse is Job 31:23
For destruction from God was a terror to me,
And by reason of his highness I could not endure.

Before I comment of this verse itself, allow me to note that it is found in the context in which is described as Job being righteous in his own eyes and Job justifying himself rather than God, which appears to be the core of Job’s folly. And yet, this very declaration is the definition I have ascribed as being what is the Fear of the Lord. Yet another, by this very definition may very well shout unto the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb[.] Wherefore? because by this definition there is no consideration that it is because God forgives, is the reason God can be Feared. So at this time, let us remember that God is just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Amen.

To God be the Glory
