Your Reward Is Coming!

 

Today's verse is Jeremiah 31:16

     Thus saith the LORD;

      Refrain thy voice from weeping,

      And thine eyes from tears:

      For thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD;

      And they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

    When Herod had heard that Jesus had been born, he wanted no challengers to his throne, so he had his men go and kill all the children two years and younger where Jesus had been. And the verse above this one was fulfilled. To that we have this promise of God to those mothers, their sacrifice was not in vain. And now Israel is once again in their land, Just as God had said. What can we as followers of Jesus Christ take from this? God knows the things he has asked of us, yea at times even demanded, but what God takes away that his purpose might be fulfilled, he restores two-fold, just ask Job, and Jesus said possibly even an hundred-fold. So let us dry our tears, and look to the one that is coming again, our reward with him, and be faithful till he comes. Amen.
