Rock? Or Sand?

Today's verse is Ezekiel 33:32
And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

Consider what Jeremiah proclaimed, “Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully.” Then also consider how Jesus defined the “Work of God,” “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” How does one do such a thing deceitfully? The verse above reminds me of the Parable of the Sower, and the seed that fell upon the stony ground. Such appeared to receive the Word, but they had no root in them. Have you purposed in your heart that God’s Word is true, or have you comforted yourself that you will never understand it? Is this what Paul testified of when he said, “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” Let us so examine ourselves, and see whether we have set our foundation upon that Rock that will never be moved, or upon sand that will be quickly washed away. Selah [Consider these things with care.] Amen.
