Looking For That Blessed Hope

 

Today's verse is James 5:8

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. 

    James has just finished speaking the judgment of God upon those that deal falsely and that defraud their neighbor, but to those that are redeemed, yea to those that love the way of God, he reminds to be patient, even as Peter tells us God is patient, “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” But even so has not Paul warned, “What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction[.]” So keep watch for that Blessed Hope, and fear not to warn, and remember to not fall in the trap of the wicked, to follow after their ways, for despite the scoffer’s doubts Jesus will return bringing Judgment and Justice, and will set up his Kingdom which will endure even through the final Judgment. Amen.
