Being Made Clean

 

Today's verse is John 15:3

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 

    We must take note here, that while it is imperative that we come to God by the way of the Cross, by which act of Christ Jesus we are redeemed by his precious blood, but take note of how Peter tells us of how God purifies us, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” If we are to have any hope of walking a sober, righteous and godly life in this present world, we must heed what Jesus has told us here, that we are made clean by his Word, therefore; we must not only read it faithfully, but seek diligently to understand what he tells us in it, All of it, not in part, here and there, but the whole, and as we understand, begin to obey, and as we are faithful in this we will find more and more that as he is Holy, we will be holy, and as he is Perfect, we will be perfect. Amen.
