Which Will You Fear?

Today's verse is Jeremiah 42: 10-11
If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.
Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

What do you fear? Are you as many, that fear a small thing as a virus, which has killed some, but not so many as had been reported. Fear, spread for political reasons! These that came to Jeremiah had suffered judgment from God, yet they did not fear God, but the agency by which God used to judge. Consider what Solomon said in Proverbs, “The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him:/ But the desire of the righteous shall be granted.” If you run from God because you fear something else, that which you fear will consume you, and destroy you, but if you hearken to God’s council, God will not only spare you, but will grant you all that you desire. Look at the verse above, God was ready to spare, and deliver those that where left in the land, but they missed out because they feared not God, but the king of Babylon, who God had called his servant. They feared the servant, but not the Master of the servant. Therefore, as fools they perished! What will you, will you take council of your fears, or will you fear God, and follow his council? Again your choice. Amen.

To God be the Glory
