Is There a Cost To Serving God?
Today's verse is I Chronicles 21:24
And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.
We see here a principle which has nothing to do with Salvation. For Salvation is free, Jesus Christ paid our price of admission into Heaven. But what the principle that we see here, is that our response, our service to him, whether it be as here, as a parents disciplining hand, or to his Goodness, our Worship, our Sacrifices need to cost us something. We are not to sacrifice that which belongeth to another, but we are to give out of our own. Even or especially if we think we cannot spare what we give. This is who our God is, and this is what he is worth. So, What are you prepared to give God today? and again Selah [think about this.] Amen.
