God Will Protect His Purpose

Today's verse is I Samuel 29:6
Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.

We see here God protecting one of his own. David was where he should not be, and trapped into possibly doing what he should not do, going to war with the Philistines against Israel and Saul. So God moved the Lords of the Philistines to counsel and demand that David be not included in the battle, and they prevailed. So that David and his men were sent home. So as God protected David that day, so too he can and will protect us, moving the events around us to keep us from some greater transgression, but if we at all can, we should endeavor to avoid such times by keeping close to the one who has saved us. Amen.
