Today's verse is Acts 21:13
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
Happy New Year. Now consider Paul, He had earlier testified that he believed that God was sending him to Jerusalem, even knowing that he would see trouble there. So further confirmation of the trouble did not move him, but he remained faithful to the direction that he believed God had set for him, regardless of what it might cost him. Paul, had counted the cost, and he found that his God was worthy of any price, What of you? What is the message of the Gospel worth to you? What is the worth of a single soul to hear your message (what God has done for you) that that soul by your testimony might be saved? What debt do you count yourself to owe to God for what Jesus had done for you on the Cross? These are the things that we must consider for this next year, for the enemies of the Gospel are at the doorstep, fighting to destroy any resemblance of the Righteousness of God in their lives, yet we know that God may just spare some of them, even as he destroys the rest, if we but testify of his Greatness in fear of his Wrath. Amen.
To God be the Glory
