Today's verse is Ezekiel 14:3
Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?
A week or two ago, I watched a video titled, “Why I am an Atheist.” Among the reasons he listed is answered by the immediate context of this verse. He had reasoned that because the Bible is the standard, and the source of how we can know God, and how to please him, and how hard it is to understand, that God cannot truly be that loving God he says he is. Understand this now, God does not owe any of us anything, let alone a way that we can be forgiven. Yet he has provided us a way. Consider this verse, taken from Romans, and is considered by many to be the first steppingstone of the Romans Road. As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: To me it is very easy to understand and seems to be very clear. Yet, in showing it to others, they did not give any indication that they did understand it. The reason, they are not yet willing to admit that God is God, they want their own way, they are not ready to abandon their false gods. Why should God force them? What of you, are you ready, did you understand that verse from Romans? If so, will you seek out more? Do you want to know what God has done for you? He has promised: Seek, and ye shall find. Selah [Consider well, what you will do.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
