Today's verse is Acts 23:12
And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.
These men, angry at the Testimony of Paul, rejecting God’s Word, thought they were doing God a service, even as they plotted against the promise God made to Paul. Whose Oath do you think will prevail? In failing, did they keep their oath? Or did they sin in this too? Such is the Religion of Men, and it indeed does lead to violence, often against God himself. Of a truth, God does not need us to fight his battles, but sometimes he allows us to participate, so still yourself, and seek his face, and keep his ways, and he shall keep his promises. Amen.
To God be the Glory
