Today's verse is Isaiah 49:8
Thus saith the LORD,
In an acceptable time have I heard thee,
And in a day of salvation have I helped thee:
And I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people,
To establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
In the above verse, God speaks of an acceptable time, from this direct context, it speaks of the perfect time, the time that God has chosen, for Jesus Christ to come, the first time: to die upon the Cross, to atone for all the sin of all the world, and the second which we have not seen yet, to restore the world in righteousness, and punish all those that have refused his gift of Salvation. All of that will be done at the acceptable or perfect time. Yet, Paul in quoting this verse, speaks of other acceptable times. First, the acceptable time to receive this good news, to receive this Salvation, provided to us by God. Today, today is the acceptable time, do not delay, do not hesitate, but as soon as you understand what God has done for you, claim it, refuse to let another second pass by before it is yours. But, then, the final acceptable time is reserved, for those that have received, and Know what God has done. Today, is the acceptable time to tell your neighbor what God has done for them, do not delay, for who has promised them tomorrow? Such a promise does not exist! Selah [Think on this.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
