Today's verse is Luke 7:8-9
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
What is faith? Know this first, Faith is only as good as its object, that thing in which one is trusting, so blind faith is worthless, for it has no base, no foundation, nothing to indicate the character of its object. Consider the reasoning of this Centurion, what is his faith based upon. He knows the power, (or authority) he has, and he has rightly judged that God is greater than he is, and has more power than he does, so he acts upon that, recognizing as well that this Jesus, was himself that very God. This is what Jesus recognized and commended. What of you? What are you putting your faith in? How is it manifesting in your life? Is it Jesus Christ that cannot lie, and has made a promise to all that come to him? Or is it some other thing that truly has no power to help in time of need? Selah [Consider this carefully.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
