Today's Verse is 2 Corinthians 3:6
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
To understand this, we must understand the purpose of the first testament, even the law given by Moses, by which we learned: There is none righteous, no not one. As we are told, by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Therefore, it is by this New Testament that the blessedness David described is possible, even Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. It is to this end that Jesus Christ died and rose again from the dead, that all that come to him will have life, even eternal life, not by any deed done by them, but by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost[.] Therefore, let us labour to enter that rest, by which we have ceased our own works, allowing the Spirit to work in us, having rested in the work of Christ. Amen.
