Today's verse is 2 Kings 7:16
And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
“. . . According to the word of the Lord.” Herein is what the faith of the Christian is based. Not of some unknown, but of the faithful God who never changes, who is always the same. For God had mercy upon Israel, but for the one that doubted, his mercy was withdrawn, for he believed not the Word of God. What of you? Search the scriptures! What does God demand of us? Is it not that we seek him first, and the righteousness found in Jesus Christ? Therefore, trust him, Keep his commandments, remain faithful to him, and watch as he enables you to thrive in a world that hates him, till he comes. Amen.
