Today's verse is 2 Kings 11:14
And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.
It is an amazing thing to see, one that is guilty of a thing, placing their guilt upon those that are doing right. Athaliah had killed all those that she could find of David's seed so that she, a daughter of Omri, and not of the line of David could reign in David’s throne. When David’s seed was revealed, she in vain cries Treason, she who was so guilty of the same. But her cry was not heard, and true judgment was meted. What of you? Are you guilty? Have you transgressed God’s law? Did not Jesus, the Son of David, the Son of God, being innocent, take your place, even as those that represented you sought to kill him, for their hate of the God that made all? Yet, He rose up from the dead, that all that will, can come and lay their sin upon him, and he will give you his righteousness, that in the last day you too can stand righteous before a Holy and Righteous God. Amen.
