Today's verse is 2 Peter 3:16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
What is so hard to understand about the statement, “All have sinned?” Yet I have counseled many who could not (would not?) understand it. Yet this is not the part of Paul’s writings that Peter is speaking of here. For consider, Ephesians, or Colossians , both books have parts that are very hard to understand. Know this. God’s Word is a book that can only be understood with the help of the Holy Spirit of God, and the First, but not the only, requirement to understanding is willingness to see. This is the only one you have control over however. The others are God’s purpose, and his timing. So rejoice and obey those things that you do understand, and study those things that you do not, and take care of those that say they have made the book easier to understand, for I have never be able to explain something that I do not understand myself, I doubt they can do any better. Amen.
