Today's verse is 2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Let us consider but one of those promises: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; (That same heart that is deceitful above all and desperately wicked so. . . ) And lean not unto thine own understanding. (Not only is our own understanding limited, but is often flawed as well, remember that deceitful and wicked heart?) In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. As we acknowledge our God, shaping our ways to match his ways as described in His Word, we will find that he also has other means to direct us in the paths that we ought to take, whether to marry or not, whom to marry if we do, where we ought to live, what vocation we should take up. . . All of these things he will guide us in, if we but Trust in him with all of our Heart. Amen.
To God be the Glory
