Overcome By Blessings

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 28:2
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

This chapter, while possibly applying to an individual, is speaking of the blessings, or the curses that a nation, in particular, Israel can receive based upon its relationship to the Most High God. However, let us look at the above verse. I want to focus on that word overtake. If we each repent, and hearken not to our neighbor, but unto the God in Heaven, receiving from him his forgiveness, encouraging our neighbor to do likewise, then all the destruction that we see about us, will we not only avoid, but the floodgates will not be able to hold back the blessings which God will give us. So what will you do? Curse God for punishing us for our Sins? Or will you accept his forgiveness through Jesus Christ, following him and his ways? The choice is yours. Selah [Think on this.] Amen.

To God be the Glory
