Who is Barabbas?

Today's verse is Luke 23:18-19
And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:
(Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)

This thought cannot be repeated too often, that Christ Jesus died in the place of sinners. For consider Barabbas, pretending to be the messiah, was a false prophet, and in his conceit committed murder, as we would consider it, one of the worst sins. Yet he was released being guilty, and the only innocent one was crucified in his place. We do not hear of Barabbas after this, the bible does not mention whether he ever completed his redemption, by receiving Christ as Savior, but as he is representing all of us who have, I think it would be a shame if he did not, but the thing is; this way he also represents all those who have not accepted this gift of Christ. Amen.
