God Finishes What He Begins
Today's verse is Judges 13:5
For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no rasor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
We see here that Samson, the strongest man to ever live, was the beginning of the end for the Philistines, and indeed he was. However, what God begins he finishes: “For surely there is an end;/ And thine expectation shall not be cut off.” So what God began with Samson, though it is not overtly stated David finished. For from Solomon on I do not remember any mention of the Philistines again. So if God has begun something with you, be sure that he will finish it at the appointed time. Therefore, let us not faint, but trust him to do what is best, and we shall see his Glory in the end. Amen.
To God be the Glory
