Is God "your" God?

Today's verse is I Samuel 15:15
And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.

Take note of Saul’s confession “the Lord thy God.” There have been times past that when I was talking to others of God, that they would take offense when I recognized God as “my God,” which by the way he is, because for some reason thy seemed to understand that I was excluding them. As in God was my God and not theirs. This was not my intent, but by their own confession, still was true. So who is God to you, is he as Saul was confessing here the God of someone else, or is he “your” God. Saul apparently did not have a personal relationship with God, but he recognized that Samuel did. So to again ask the question, are you as Saul seeing God afar off, or as Samuel, knowing God personally. If you are as Saul, know that God wants you to know him as Samuel does, and is patently wait for you to come to him, which can be done through Jesus Christ. Amen.
