How Preverse We Can Be

Today's verse is I Samuel 8:5
And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

And such is the perverseness of men, this statement is much like the young man’s statement to his parents on why he is leaving home: “I am tired of all of your rules, so I am joining the army.”  “Right out of the frying pan, and into the fire.” This is who we are, prone to forsake God, and do that which is not convenient. But God, knows us and he did something for us, which is celebrated today, Good Friday. The redeemer took the place of the guilty, and paid in full the price the guilty owed. So on this day, rejoice and reflect upon the price Jesus paid, that we might have life, and life more abundantly. Amen.
