How to Escape Coming Judgment

Today's Verse is Joel 2:13
And rend your heart, and not your garments,
And turn unto the LORD your God:
For he is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness,
And repenteth him of the evil.

Prior to the verse before this one Joel is describing a terrible coming judgment, even that same judgment that Jesus called the great tribulation. But here, we see the means to escape God's wrath. It is simple, but as much as it is simple, we have a hard time understanding it. We need just to turn to him, which will cause us to turn from our wicked ways. As it says here God is gracious and merciful, and has provided for us a way to be redeemed from our wicked ways through Jesus' death and resurrection. For by this, he, not us, has paid for our sins, and if we but accept this, all of our sins will be cast as far away from us as the east is from the west. Let us therefore, turn unto our God, Jesus Christ, and look to him for our deliverance. Amen.
