Today's Verse is 1 Kings 3:16
Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
In considering King Josiah, the last King that was considered Good in the Judean King line, and at how quickly the nation declined, even though it went through an apparent revival. Here at the height of Israel’s prosperity, we have two women of whom the Law prohibits saying: Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. Yet, this is not dwelt with here but is passed by. And later Solomon stubbled at a different form of the same sin, even as he became known as a harsh King. Having said this, Today, we see the same things, but we have been counseled to clean our own house first before judging our neighbour, and even then, we who have trusted Christ have been commissioned to proclaim the Redemption found only in Jesus Christ, and allow God to judge them who will not hear (Not forgetting the responsibility of Government to punish the evil doers.) So, if fear of the Judgment of God, let us remember: Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Even as Paul considered the terror of the Lord (Just having reflected on the Redeems’ having to give an account) as sufficient cause to persuade others toward Christ. Selah [Consider these things.] Amen.
