Today's Verse is Probverbs 19:11
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger;
And it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
I am not going to pretend understanding on this concept, but I see that God is longsuffering to us and is slow to anger, even to finding a way that we who have transgressed against Him time and again, He has found a way for our sins to be covered. Yet, in contrast, we are also told: To do justice and judgment /Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. That is, to hold ourselves (and others) accountable and to do the right thing the first time, is better than to repent later. How can we put these two things together? We have been told that God chastens those that He counts His own, not leaving them to follow their natural destructive paths. So, as God has forgiven us, but then seeks to restore us to the right path, let us do the same, first correcting our own way, then helping those that are around us, that as few as possible might land in the pit. Amen.
