Today's Verse is Leviticus 5:1
And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
It is amazing how the morality of man can so contradict that which God has ordained. As we see here, staying quiet and refusing to give testimony, we can be found guilty as an accomplice. Whereas often today it is counted a transgression to speak of another’s wrongdoing. Now, one might say, this is only in regard to one speaking an oath. Yet, in another place we are admonished: Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Again, one might say, charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Does not James tell us how? Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. Therefore, let us seek first repentance in ourselves, and then in our neighbour, paying restitution where necessary, that all that will, may be clear in the Day we must give an account of all. Amen.
