Personal Property?

Today's Verse is Leviticus 25:23
The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

Whether you are aware of it or not, there is a debate about whether one should have the right to personal property. In the verse above, we see a core principle which gives an answer to this question. Whatsoever you have gained by legitimate means, that is by Godly means, you have been received from God, and you owe him the stewardship thereof. For consider the land that Israel (at the time this writing, was to receive) possessed. Each family was to retain the possession of it, they were not to sale it, but provision was made that they could rent or lease it. So that they were to WORK the land, and from it reap the rewards of their labour, and from that they were to first give back to the Lord, provide for their families, and then if they so choose, they could then help their neighbour. Not to forget the law of the gleanings. So, being content with what God has given you, what will you do with it? Amen.
