The Proper Attitude Of Prayer

Today's Verse is Matthew 6:8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Just before this we are warned of praying vain [empty] repetitions, yet in another place we are enjoined to always to pray and not to faint, even unto importunity unto the Father, for he desires to give you the good things (his definition, not ours.) Therefore, let us pray with boldness, giving deference unto the Master, knowing that all things we ask him whether need or desire, if we ask him according to his will, which his Spirit dwelling within us knows, we shall receive at the most appropriate time that God will be Glorified in all. Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
