Today's verse is Acts 3:12
And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
In hearing what Peter says here, we must be humbled. For as it was with him, so it is with us. We are not to walk with God in our power, by our own might. All things we do must be done by the power of the Holy Ghost which lives within us. For it is only by the Spirit of God which dwells within us that we can produce those works that can abide the fire: gold, silver, and precious stones. Any other work which we may do, however noble it may appear, can only be as wood, hay, or stubble, all which will burn when we appear before our Saviour to receive of the work we have done for him, whether good or bad. Selah [Think of how to respond and thereby rely upon Him that loved us.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
