What Is The Law?

Today's verse is Matthew 22:40

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

    To Love God, and to Love our Neighbor, we are here told is the essence of the law, and yet, the lawful use of the law is to show us that we as children of Adam are unable to keep it, that we need a Savior, that we need one to stand in the gap and advocate for us and enable us. Indeed, have we not been told that these things teach us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and having done that, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world? The Grace of God does indeed cover our sin, having been washed in the Blood of the Lamb, but it is also by Grace that we are to Love God and our brethren, which God had created in his image, fulfilling these two, greatest of commandments. Have you been redeemed? So let Jesus Christ be seen in you, as you let his Love be seen through you to all that are about you. Amen.
