Today's verse is Matthew 13:13
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Consider the passage and the context it was taken from, and ask yourself, What is required in order to understand the Word God has given us? The first and foremost as I understand what I read here is a willing heart (that same heart the is deceitful above all and desperately wicked, yet that same heart that we are to trust God with fully.) As you understand what God has said, and accept it, and keep it dear to you and do it, the Spirit which God gave you will open your eyes that you might understand even more. However, if you reject that which God has made clear to you, as he has promised, you will lose even that, and in your blindness you will find yourself condemned by that which you have rejected, and those things that others would say, “How could someone do such a thing?” You would just think it a matter of course, acceptable and good. So, determine even now, that you will hold that which you understand of God’s Word as your most precious of treasures, that you may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Amen.
To God be the Glory
Scott
