Today's verse is Matthew 25:10
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
One of my first impressions of the story of the ten virgins is of the fact then the five wise did not, and do not share with those that do not prepare. Are not the followers of Christ a people that share? But what is it that they are to share? Oil, and what is Oil a picture of? Is it not the Spirit of God? As I see it, this parable is showing that being prepared for the Kingdom of heaven is a personal thing, no one can prepare for you for your journey. Now in a couple of other places in scripture, we are commanded to buy with out money, and without price (That is it is freely given if asked for) the things that we need, gold, wine or milk. Therefore, are you prepared, do you have the oil you need? Is it not freely given? Have you purchased it from Jesus Christ, the groom? If you have it not, you will find just as the foolish virgins did, that he knows you not. Does Jesus know you? Amen.
