The Wrong Things To Look For In A Leader

Today's verse is I Samuel 9:2
And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

Israel demanded of God, a King for themselves. So, to show them the error of their ways, God gave them a man that outwardly, by first appearances, looked good. However, as we begin to see his character, we see that he is unprepared, falsely humble, prone to react, rather than acting with forethought, and often rather than standing up and acting upon the command of God, seeks to appease the wayward ways of the people he is to be overseeing. Of what qualities do you look for, when you have the choice of who is to be placed in leadership? Selah [Consider your choices with care.] Amen.
