Jesus Takes Our Place
Today's verse is Mark 15:15
And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
Barabbas, or Bar - Son, Abba - Father, or son of the Father; of which Jesus being the true Son of the Father, was sent to Pilate to be crucified. This is who we are, we deny the True one, and the truth, and we turn to those who are false, making a similar claim, and we receive them instead. Yet, Jesus Christ takes the place of the deceiver, and suffers the deceivers fate, not only for him, but also for us who rejected him. And of this I still marvel, That God makes our rejection of him the basis for His Acceptance of us. Let us, therefore, turn unto him, accept his mercy, and grace, and do as he wishes. Amen.
