Opposition Overcome

 

Today's verse is Ezra 6:12

And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

     In another place, we are told that the King’s heart is in the hand of God, and he turns it as he will. From this verse we can see that Darius feared God and knew that he was King, only by God’s suffrage. If we, having sought, or otherwise recieved God’s counsel, and know what he has directed, Do it. We know not just from this place, but throughout scripture, that if God’s people are faithful to do the work God has commanded, done the way God has commanded it, no matter the obstacles placed in their path, God shall make sure it is accomplished. So do that which God has placed before you, fearing not any power but of God, and you shall see his hand accomplish that which he has set you to do. Amen.
